History	Manley Spangler Smith Architects (MSSA) is located in Griffin, Georgia. Founded in 1949, MSSA has been providing a full range of architectural design, space planning and construction contract administration services to clients across Georgia. In its sixth progression of ownership, MSSA has been operating from the same location since 1955. The principals of the firm, B. Dick Spangler III and W. Valdon Smith Jr., have over forty years of combined professional experience. Our professional memberships with organizations, such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Council of Education Facility Planners International (Georgia CEFPI), show our commitment to quality of design and dedication to the highest standards of technical expertise, integrity and conduct.

Reputation	MSSA has provided over a half century of continuous service. Most of our current and past projects are from repeat clients. This means they are confident knowing that projects are completed successfully on time and on budget. For example, construction was completed in June 2009 on a free-standing High School, Middle School and Elementary School complex. This complex is the fifth site adaptation for our client. The free-standing High School, Middle School and Elementary School are on a “single” 140 acre site (516,234 SF building total). Our firm dedicates one-third of its employees to administering the Construction Contract–from contract award to project closeout. They coordinate the efforts of many separate entities to complete projects on time.
Longetivity	Our practice is founded on sound business principals. We practice fiscal conservatism for the firm as well as for our clients. Prior to approving any pay application, a MSSA field representative visits the project to confirm the validity of the application. Every proposal request amount is verified before the client sees it. Not only are we dedicated to our clients and their projects, but also to our employees.Three-quarters of the members of our firm have been employed with MSSA for over five years (half of those over 10 years).
