B. Dick Spangler III, AIA
Director of Design

Registered Architect
MARCH & BS in Architecture,
Georgia Institute of Technology.
Mr. Spangler has over 20 years of professional experience providing design and project management for a wide range of facility types. As Director of Design, he manages quality control of contract documents and implementation of a client focused design approach. He has served as Principal-In-Charge for numerous educational projects including new facilities, prototypical designs, extensive renovation and modification projects as well as additions to existing facilities.
He also manages marketing, information technology and oversees the legal aspects of the firm.

 

W. Valdon Smith, Jr., AIA
Director of Finance

Registered Architect; NCARB Certified
BARCH & BS in Building Construction,
Auburn University.
Mr. Smith has over 20 years of professional experience providing design and project management for a wide range of facility types. He has served as Principal-In-Charge for numerous projects and is actively involved in the production of all projects. He also manages project scheduling, human resources and Contract Administration.

Brett McIver, AIA
Architect

BS in Architectural Engineering Technology, Southern Polytechnic State University.
Since joining the firm in 1998, Mr. McIver, has been providing design and project management in all phases of construction, for a variety of building types. His background includes an additional eleven years of architectural experience and three years experience assisting in the construction supervision of large multi-story commercial developments.

 

Tracey Moss, AIA
Architect

Registered Architect; LEED AP
BS in Architectural Engineering Technology, Southern Polytechnic State University.
Since joining the firm in 1998, Mr. Moss has been providing design and project management for a variety of building types. His background includes an additional six years of architectural experience in office and construction administration, five years in civil engineering and two years in industrial development.

 

Jan Selz, AIA
Architect

Registered Architect; NCARB Certified; LEED AP
BARCH, University of Miami.
Ms. Selz joined the firm in 2000. She has architectural experience, with MSSA, providing design and project management for educational facilities. Her background includes an additional five years of architectural experience in the private sector including corporate interior space planning and facility programming. She also coordinates the marketing for the firm.

 

Kenneth M. Moore, AIA Architect

Registered Architect; NCARB Certified; LEED AP
BARCH, Auburn University.
Mr. Moore joined the firm in 2000. He has architectural experience, with MSSA, providing design and project management in educational facilities. His background includes seven years of architectural experience in a variety of sectors including historic preservation, private office buildings, and religious facilities.

 

Lucian Tatum, AIA
Architect

Registered Architect; NCARB Certified; LEED AP
MARCH, Georgia Institute of Technology.
Mr. Tatum has over 20 years experience in the construction industry and more than 10 years experience, with MSSA, in project management for educational facilities and private sector projects.

Mayes Howard
IT Manager /
Document Technician

AS in Botany, Gordon College.
Mr. Howard joined the firm in 1986. He has architectural experience, with MSSA, providing project management for renovation and addition projects. He manages the Information and Communications System and the CAD Management Systems for the firm. His background includes two years of military service.

 

Russell Whitehead
Document Technician

Mr. Whitehead joined the firm in 1999. He has architectural experience, with MSSA, assisting in the production of contract documents as well as the creation of three-dimensional modeling and the production of PowerPoint presentations.

 

Albin Spangler
Intern Architect

BS in Architecture, Georgia Institute of Technology; MARCH, Illinois Institute of Technology
Mr. Spangler assists in the production of contract documents. He joined MSSA as a full time employee after graduating in 2009. His background includes a year of architectural experience working for an architectural firm as an intern architect before completing his Master’s Degree.

Randy Vining
Intern Architect

BS in Architectural Engineering Technology, Southern Polytechnic State University.
Mr. Vining produces all the project specification manuals. He is our liaison with all state and local code agencies and conducts a code analysis and document quality control review for every project. He has over 20 years of architectural experience in CA and project management. He joined the firm in 1997.

 

Bobbye Jean Moye
Administrative Assistant

Ms. Moye has over 20 years experience with architectural firms assisting in the production of project specification manuals for education, commercial and industrial projects. She joined the firm in 1994.

ADMINISTRATION
Turner Burson
Director

BS in Building Construction, Auburn University.
Mr. Burson coordinates the activities of the CA Department including the management of the on-site construction activities for all projects, coordination of consultant site observations and general administration of the construction contract. He joined the firm in 2002. His background includes Industrial Construction Operations Manager, Manufacturing Operations Manager and five years as a U.S. Army Officer.

 

Tanya Rawdin
Intern Architect

Intern Architect
MARCH, Savannah College of Art and Design.
Ms. Rawdin joined the firm in 1997. As the Submittal Coordinator, she supervises the submittal and shop drawing review for every project under construction. She also provides design and project management in the Design and Contract Documentation Department, including both new buildings, renovations and additions.

 

Tammy Ibanez
Coordinator

AS in Industrial Development, Gordon College.
Ms. Ibanez joined the firm in 1987 and has experience in various aspects of the firm. She assists all CA personnel by processing change orders, preparing punch lists and substantial completion certificates along with processing all close-out documents. Additionally, she coordinates the color selection process for all finishes in every project.

David Stansell

Field Representative

Mr. Stansell has over 30 years of experience in construction. He is a Field Representative on numerous projects in Clayton and Fayette County. His experience includes Job Superintendent for a Design/Build Contractor, power plant construction carpenter foreman, construction worker and four years of service in the U.S. Navy. He joined the firm in 1997.


Blake Brewster
Field Representative

Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Civil, Southern Polytechnic State University.
Mr. Brewster has over 30 years of experience in construction. He is a Field Representative on numerous projects in Henry County. His experience includes Plan Reviewer for local Building Department, Job Superintendent, Construction Site Engineer, Assistant Superintendent and Field Engineer for a Design/Build Contractor. He joined the firm in 2001.

 

Roger S. Bloodworth
Field Representative

Mr. Bloodworth has over 20 years of experience in construction. He is a Field Representative on numerous projects in Henry, Spalding, Butts, Clayton and Tift County. His experience includes Construction Superintendent and carpenter. He joined the firm in 1999.

 

Greg Yevick
Field Representative

Mr. Yevick has over 10 years of experience in construction. He is a Field Representative on numerous projects in Cherokee and Clayton County. His experience includes General Contractor for Residential and Commercial construction, Property and Zoning Official and Building Inspector. He joined the firm in 2002.

 

BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
Sami Larsen
Business Manager

Ms. Larsen has over 20 years of experience in business administration. She prepares architectural and construction contracts, processes contractor's pay applications as well as manages accounts receivable/payable and payroll for the firm. Her experience includes serving as a 401(k) record keeper in the Defined Contribution Department for a large employee benefit consulting firm. She joined the firm in 1996.
