A CONNECTION THROUGH NEW PROGRAM SPACES

A new “front door” combining administration areas and new program spaces connecting several buildings allow safe and secure movement on the campus.

Previously, students and staff faced the daily challenge of traversing a parking lot to access three main entry points in several separate buildings. Additions and modifications designed by MSSA combined administration areas and connected several buildings through new program spaces, including a new cafeteria and kitchen, a chorus and band suite, additional classrooms, and restrooms. The former cafeteria and kitchen were modified into a new hospitality suite (marketing and culinary arts) which includes a dining area. Another former cafeteria with kitchen was modified to provide additional classrooms and restrooms. The design of the new band suite provides better acoustics and space for loading instruments for transportation to other venues. Additionally, the location of the new gym presented an exciting opportunity to create a gathering space in a new secure fenced courtyard.
